There is strong case to say that NZ makes the finest Sauvignon Blancs anywhere in the world, specifically from Marlborough whose cool climate allows the grapes to slowly ripen and retain good balancing acidity. Wonderful, mouthfilling fruit flavours of blackcurrants and ripe gooseberries

This wine has citrus flavours and lemon skin backed with a slight hint of kerosene. A pale lemon yellow coloured wine with a linear acid back bone, flushed out with opulent mouth filling fruit weight. Lingering citrus and pear on the palate.

Stunning claret made by Chateau Bel-Air La Royere. New World influences in the wine making process are responsible for the wonderful quality of fruit. It has a nice touch of pepper and spice and a long finish

Les Ricards is not a pushover by any means, primarily Merlot based it has rich, supple flavours of cherry and anise and a long finish to balance the wine. Great with any meal that calls for a medium bodied red wine

A very welcome new addition to the list – outstanding Grand Cru St Emilion at a very sensible price. Made by the same team at Château Laroque



ENGLISH

Rich purple in colour and smelling of plums and dark chocolate, this is a lively refreshing red which is gentle enough to drink on it's own and will add a fruity accompaniment to salads and poultry.



SPANISH

Solaguen Crianza, Rioja Alavesa, 2002 - £38.70
The best part of Rioja is Alavesa, which is where most of the regions Tempranillo grapes are grown. Rich fruit and smoky notes combine in a wine which is a wonderful example of modern Rioja

Solaguen Reserva, Rioja Alavesa, 1999 - £38.70
Again this is 100% Tempranillo. The extra oak ageing required of a reserve has Added notes of vanilla and spice. A well balanced medium to full bodied wine which is well balanced and with a good finish.



SOUTH AFRICAN
