Crown Group

In an environmentally conscious society, the Crown Group recognise the importance of sustaining our environment and operating in a manner that is ecologically sound.

Since 2007 the Crown Group have participated in a Carbon Trading programme, contributing towards global efforts to reduce global warming. This will begin with planting a substantial number of trees in the first stage of the programme and will continue as a long term project into the future.

Charles Beer, Chief Executive of the Crown Group comments, "It is now becoming clearer to us all the impact that our lifestyles have on the environment. The Crown Group has over ten member companies, so it is important that we operate in an environmentally ethical way."

Operating in a manner which is environmentally mindful has been an ongoing project of the Group's following the purchase of agricultural land in 2005. This allowed their chefs to use fine quality fresh herbs and vegetables which will be organically and locally produced and from garden to table in hours. This sustainability programme has been a great success and ensures that the produce we use is locally grown, organically sound and with minimal impact to the environment.

We are very proud of our accomplishments to date and the positive effect we are demonstrating through out the group. We are likewise looking to the future and continually looking for new ways to reduce the effect we not just have on the environment but also to help improve it.

Gibson Hall

Sourcing all of our products from food to AV equipment and stationary locally reduces the damage to the environment by reducing the distance it is transported and as a result reducing the use of fuel. Not only does this have a positive effect on the environment but also to the congestion on the road network.

• 100% of our meat is sourced from within the UK
• 90% of our fresh seasonal produce is sourced from within the UK
• Our primary supplier of meat, fruit and vegetables is successfully aiming to become carbon neutral
• Our sister company and supplier of furniture and additional conferencing equipment, Event Hire, has recently taken delivery of two emission friendly Euromasters to transport items to us greenly


Our venue also houses offices, which have had an environmental over haul to bring them in line with the rest of the business in terms of recycling and energy saving to include the following actions.

• Double sided printing as standard and all printers
• Computer will go into hibernation to save energy if not in use
• Lights, air conditioning and ventilation devices are turned off when not in use
• All stationary sourced from local businesses
• All office and food waste is recycled
• Energy saving light bulbs are used throughout the venue where possible
Being dedicated to the environment does not only mean being watchful of waste and emissions but also the welfare of the livestock from our meat and poultry suppliers.
• 100% of our meat is supplied from companies adhering to the Farm Assured Standards, ensuring that the animals are reared in a humane manner and to the highest of standards
• Our supplier of chicken produce keeps their livestock in accordance to the ACP (Assured Chicken Production), which forms part of the Assured Food Standards and also the Freedom Foods Scheme
• 100% of our fish is supplied from sustainable and well managed fisheries to help reduce the burden on global fish stocks
• All live stock is kept healthy, well managed and looked after by caring farmers


In addition to all of these measures, we have a carbon neutral villa in Portugal as part of our VIP Attention scheme that has acres of land within it's grounds where trees have been planted to offset any emissions.

Our environmental policy demonstrates a long term commitment to helping the environment and reducing our impact on it. We are continuously looking at new viable methods to reach this goal and adapting our working policies to accomplish this very important.
